Affinity Group Meetings

These peer networking groups meet to dialogue about family business dynamics and best practices. They serve as a member-only forum to meet with like-minded individuals to share ideas, trends, challenges, and opportunities unique to family businesses. 

Meetings are organized into the following Affinity Groups: 

    • Experienced CEO/Founder (10+ Years of Experience)
    • New CEO/Founder (<10 Years Experience)
    • Key Leader (Leadership position within the company)
    • Emerging Leader (Young professional new to the business)
    • Family Supporter (Spouse/partner involved in the dynamics of the business) 



Family Business Forums

These programs feature esteemed guest speakers from the family business community, panel discussions with interactive Q&A, and networking opportunities with members and Technical Advisors.



Family Business Tours

We meet at member businesses from around the region for a tour and presentation. This is an opportunity to see our members businesses from behind the scenes, and learn about their industry and their products or services in a private setting. Our members love to visit other member locations and talk about best practices in succession.



Member Socials & Family Day

Throughout the year we offer a variety of special events for our members. These events are often held at a member location and provide an activity along with food and conversation! They are designed to be fun, uplifting and bring our members together to spend time, catch up and get to know each other better.

Past events include Family Day at Bishop's Pumpkin Farm, and our Holiday Social.  


The Capital Region Family Business Center (FBC) was founded as a 501(c)(3) in 2007 by family businesses that had sincere questions on how to best transition their own family businesses to the next generation.
