Get to Know the FBC

The Capital Region Family Business Center (FBC) was founded as a 501(c)(3) in 2007 by family businesses that had sincere questions on how to best transition their own family businesses to the next generation. Since that time, FBC has worked to bring family businesses together to share valuable lessons learned so that every family business in our region has the same opportunity to grow and prosper. A trusted resource for family-owned businesses, FBC is comprised of highly qualified volunteer leaders, outstanding Technical Advisor members and knowledgeable family members. We provide our members with EDUCATIONRESOURCES, and opportunities to COLLABORATE.

The Why

The idea for FBC came in 2005 as the result of collaboration between local community business leaders who saw a compelling need to provide Family Businesses in California’s North and Central state with consistent and professional resources to meet their unique needs.  As contributors to the economic engine of California, these businesses were committed to forming an organization with a strong volunteer base and that functioned independently to allow for fluid response and service to its dynamic membership.

Officially founded in 2007 as a 501c3, the organization serves Family Owned Businesses in the Sacramento, South Placer, Yolo, Yuba and Sutter counties. The organization has expanded its programs to include family forums, Affinity Group meetings, Family Business Forums, social gatherings, and the Generations Conference, which collectively support the growth, prosperity and sustainable success of the area’s Family Businesses.

We represent Family Businesses across five California Counties. Our members represent multiple generation owners and employees, and businesses in nearly every industry. A group reflective of the incredible region we call home, FBC Members make up a remarkable segment of its Leadership and support thousands of employees collectively.
