Communication is key to success – in business, in relationships, in life. Much of what needs to be accomplished is aligned through talk. What does effective talk look like?
Learning how to have those difficult conversations, uncomfortable as they are with an employee, let alone a family member, in a constructive manner is crucial to effective management and a thriving business. This half-day interactive workshop facilitated by skilled leadership coach Kevin McCarthy will provide you with insights and tools on what it takes to build conversations that are more than just polite; they are able to have candor and tension that results in exploration, understanding, and alignment for action.
- Understand your own patterns in conversations and the patterns that exist in the conversations you most commonly are a part of.
- Develop more personal capacity to participate in conversations in different ways and to intervene in conversation in an effort to move them toward being productive.
PRE WORK ASSIGNMENT: All participants should prepare for this workshop by taking notes on a very specific conversation you have that does not go well. Be as specific as you can, who is participating, who is saying what, in what order, and how does the conversation come to a close. Bring this mini case study with you as we will use it as a starting point for our work together.
