Effective Leadership: Managing the Tensions in Family Business
Stress in business, especially a family business, is a given. An effective leader may think part of his or her job is to prevent or eliminate that stress altogether. As a result, they are often on the search for solutions. However, newer more evolved ideas of leadership demonstrate that leaders don’t necessarily solve problems, they look for ways to turn challenges into the dynamics for positive change.
At our next session, we will examine some inherently tense situations and ask you to ponder how you and your organization deal with these issues. We will also explore how balancing control with creativity when tackling tension is a crucial aspect of leadership. This half-day interactive workshop is facilitated by skilled leadership coach Kevin McCarthy.
In this session you will:
- Learn about common organizational tensions.
- Rate your organization’s ability to manage stressful situations.
- Hear about organizational pitfalls resulting in tension mismanagement.
- Build skills on how to make tensions a positive source of organizational change.
